We at Gissmos Limited decided that it is now time to reinvent the generic thermos into the 21st century and give it a new broader purpose. During the course of five years together with a hand picked team of designers and product developers which have now researched, developed, and invested time sweat and tears creating a brand new product making it into a totally new way we can use and now consider a modern-day version of the thermos flask.

Our story started some time ago when we found ourselves far away from civilization working for a fresh water and pump automation company installing water/ wastewater automation systems during the harsh winter in the majestic beautiful mountains of Norway, in a little place named Rjukan. Being cold and snowing heavily that day and near freezing temperatures, we found ourselves wanting something fresh hot to eat and drink. After some time working in the frigid temperatures in the mountain side of Rjukan we found the content of our thermos was cold and undesirable to say the least. Understandably we wanted something hot to eat and drink to help warm us up. We knew that a normal thermos would never be enough at that point. We wanted a gadget that could heat our beverages on demand quick and easy at a flip of a switch when desired without the hassle of firing up an open flame outside in bad weather, but at the same time being easily accessible while working outside in snow and under all kinds of harsh weather conditions, while finding an effective way to heat beverages and soups hot while in confined space from the outdoor elements.

We decided there and then that we had an important quest and problem to solve on our hands.
This quest has now lead us many years later in developing a brand new innovative thermos flask of its kind we nicknamed
"The GISSMOS Thermos."

Our vision was to invent a totally new thermos from the 21st century, that would be new inventive in ways that will totally rethink and extend the way we use the modern day version of the thermos flask. To achieve this we needed to think outside the box and stretch the limitations of both creativity, design and technology. We wanted to keep all the good versatile efficient properties of a thermos flask having all the usual features of the normal generic thermos while we reinvented the thermos from the inside out. We are proud to introduce the worlds first smart heated IoT connected thermo insulated flask the new "GISSMOS". The Gissmos fits the demands the 21st century modern day society the typical user would want and come to expect from a product that is an everyday application usable anywhere under any weather condition. As we reinvented the generic thermos we also wanted to keep it as light weight and simple as possible for anyone to use at the same time as close to the functions that of a normal thermos flask. We designed the Gissmos to be versatile made of durable all weather materiel, and full of 21st century features useful for the modern everyday to day user. Having a robust outer shell with both ends covered in shock absorbing padding. We then had to think of the many ways a consumers our customers expect to use our new invented thermos was quite a challenge. We needed to make sure the Gissmos is weather resistant to the elements, and shock resistant for rough handling or if dropped in rugged terrain such a thermos flask may be expected to be exposed too during its life cycle. More importantly we also needed to make the product safe, and safe to use for anyone from all walks of life and, needed to integrate features to make sure we address all aspects of intended and unintended use.

The Gissmos has a fold-able handle that folds over and covers the instrument panel and charging sockets so that when not in use it can easily be transported and to save space when stored away, also this allows for easily and safely poring any hot content from the interior It has and exterior wall, the exterior size is roughly around 1 cubic litre with an interior volume of around 500 ml. All though the final finished product may differ slightly from the design shown, it will not deviate from the main structured features described and illustrated. That said it might have a bigger control panel/ screen, and size etc but mostly keep in the parameters shown on the images. The Gissmos Thermos has a top cover which can be used as a cup and an internal lid with a situated valve for release of pressure and vapour/ steam. The bottom end and top cover has a silicone rubber compound for protecting and shock absorbing.

We wanted to make The Gissmos as similar to shape and function as the normal generic thermos we all are so familiar with, while at the same time making it as different and modern as modern day technology would allow us to unfold our technological know how in developing and incorporating new innovative ideas. We then kept the normal top screw on/off cover lid useful as a cup and an inner screw on/ off lid with valve and pouring means and lip for the inner content to easily pour content from. Content can be heated while confined inside the thermos. The thermal block walls keeps the content efficiently hot for an extended time. This keeps the content confined from any outdoor elements. The Gissmos features a retractable handle which is tucked into the thermos wall which shields the power inn/ outlet and control panel from the element and any damage if dropped. Although the extent of this is not decided The Gissmos may also come with and app connected to the thermos to enable the content to heat simply by via the IoT feature being connect to the Internet of Things which gives you real time temperature, power level and other status information direct to your handheld device. You can then programme for when to start/ stop and other such useful commands. The Gissmos can also be used as a charging point by charging devices such as a smart watch, smart phone and other such small handheld devices.

Now that we finally own our intellectual rights to our product we can now continue moving forward to our next goal. Getting to this point has not been easy. We often met closed doors, people who where naysayers, pessimistic to say the least, and at most times did not believe in what we where doing nor the problems we wanted to solve with our new product. Having said that we did not let that stop us., our idea and dreams of making it reality had more than taken a hold, so we kept on going never giving up. We spent thousands of hours, pounds and years just to get here. After all the hard work, long days and the years working towards a granted patent to our new invention The Gissmos Heated Thermo Flask, we were very proud when we received patented granted for our new product, and could not wait to start the next journey having it materialised into a real commercial product which people can start using, and have the benefit from wherever their journeys might take them. Such journeys might be taking the Gissmos out to work each day, or on camping trips, road trips, backpacking/ hiking globe trotting or mountain climbing and so on, ensuring all beverages or soups etc are always hot whenever and where ever you want it hot to exact temperature you desire simply at the touch of a button. So fare we have been all alone and done all the work our selves, we realised it could take most of our natural lives to in bringing the product to market, and with the patent only granted for 20 years we now really needed to push forward in order to utilise the patent fully., but without any further funding the project risks coming to a halt. We sadly realised we would not have the time or funds in regards to addressing every aspect and department needed to successfully launch the product sooner rather than later. Such being manufacturers and materials for prototyping, product testing, market research, marketing/ advertising, branding and brand protection, partners, logistics, wear housing, patent protection, business planning, internet marketing, website/ sales channels, licensing/ contracts, and so on. This seems a daunting task for any one person, but after carefully considering our alternatives we thought that help from social crowd founding was one way of getting the project moving forward faster and out to the public so that people can start to have use for the product sooner. If we are successful in doing we will solve a problem by offering people instant hot heated beverages and foods where ever you might find yourself. We hesitated for a while as we thought asking perfect strangers for funds was something unconventional to say the least. So this was not a decision we took lightly. We said why would anyone give us money when there are so many others causes who really need money for things that might be much more important thinking we might not be worthy of peoples help and attention as much as others. We where told that anyone can apply for such funding and that there are all sorts of different projects people raise funds for. We then though instead of the usual path where the banks and their investors own the projects sometimes more than the hard working inventor them selves and then ultimately a chunk of the company, then telling us how to do things, we thought it would be better to do it through crowd funding and give people whom might want to help instead of greedy high street banks. We where at a cross road and wanted to give it a try. We thought if we offer the finished product to anyone who might want to contribute and like the product and how it will be useful for them in there daily lives we thought we could offer anyone who wanted The Gissmos at a good fair discounted price so orders can be taken and shipped to their home as soon as the products are finished, and in doing so be one of the first customers to receive The Gissmos Heated Thermos. Anyone who appreciate such and wanted the product at a discounted price and who gives a donation of 50 pounds or more if successful will receive the product when the product becomes available. We love the environment, and do what we can to protect it.  We aim to be a 100% non landfill appliance. We are committed and strive to reuse most if not all the materials in our products in order to reduce any waist and such materials to reproduce new products. One way we might be a step closer to achieve this in the not so distant future is to find reusable materials of high quality that are 100% recyclable but at the same time offer our customers a return policy where damaged or end of life of the products are returned to us for a cash return on their initial investment purchased on our product.
The returned amount would be a percentage of each product our customers return back to us. We want to limit any potential waste form our product, hopefully with as much as 60% to 80%. This will more then meet The UK WEEEE Directive from 2007 expectation to limit landfill electronic waste in the UK.
